KARA ORMAN • Sayko Session Open Air

On Friday, July 24, 2026, KARA ORMAN will play with the Sayko Session Open Air as part of the Schwaneninsel Summer Open Airs at the Kulturhaus Schwanen Waiblingen. Start is at 8 pm, admission from 7 pm. The trio around Nazim Sabuncu combines Anatolian folk with psychedelic, funk, rock and electronic textures. The evening will be co-presented by Sayko Sessions Stuttgart. In the event of thunderstorms or heavy rain, the concert will move to the Schwanensaal.

KARA ORMAN sounds like tradition in motion, which doesn't come across as pretentious, but lives from the moment - between Anatolian folk, psychedelic and danceable grooves
At the center is Nazim Sabuncu with saz, guitar, vocals and loops. With Jörg Bielfeldt on drums and Mert Eylem on the darbuka, they create a sound that combines Anatolian folk traditions with psychedelic expansiveness and danceable band energy. What began rather casually in a coronavirus jam session in 2020 has long since developed into an independent live project.

Traces of Turkish pop and folk history from the 1970s can be heard, for example from artists such as Barış Manço or Neşe Karaböcek. At the same time, the music opens up towards the present, with an approach that also appeals to fans of global psychedelic acts and club-like sounds. KARA ORMAN do not play a museum-like retrospective, but lively, open music that does not preserve tradition, but puts it into circulation.

This is an evening made for the Schwaneninsel Summer Open Airs: in the open air, with space for curiosity, rhythm and listening together. The open air is freely accessible and there is no admission control. Tickets at the solidarity price of 10 / 15 / 20 euros are available in advance and at the Box Office.
