Katja Strunz. Future Collapses, Past Rises

In the organizer's words:

n.b.k. showroom

Opening: Friday, March 13, 2026, 7 pm
Curator: Michaela Richter

The Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.) presents Future Collapes, Past Rises, a new exhibition by Katja Strunz that combines numerous approaches and techniques by the artist. On display are sculptures made of painted steel that refer to the principles of folding and falling, as well as origami-like collages based on high-resolution satellite images of the earth's surface changing due to human influence. Both groups of works testify to a balance between becoming and passing away and emphasize the potentiality of constant change with the multitude of perspectives that the artistic process of deliberately folding the material produces. The selected works are complemented by found objects and new historical references. The n.b.k. showroom becomes a place of constantly new relationships between the past and a future that remains fragile.
