Carnevale di classico - Musical masked magic

Under the motto "Musical Masquerade Magic", the Philharmonia Frankfurt under the direction of chief conductor Juri Gilbo takes you back to the glamorous era of royal festivals, the Italian carnival and secret love affairs.

Masks, disguises and the dance of transformation are at the heart of the evening: let yourself be carried away by Dvorak's exuberant "Carnival Overture", Rossini's merry "Barber", Verdi's famous "Masked Ball" or Arban's "Carnival of Venice".

The highlight of the evening is the impressive firework display, which lights up the night sky over the lake with colorful fire flowers.

Founded in 2019, the Philharmonia Frankfurt orchestra reflects Frankfurt's multicultural society with its line-up: the ensemble members come from various European countries, South America, Asia and Australia - an intercultural group of artists whose greatest common denominator is the language of music. The warm sound of the legendary Eastern European string school meets the precision and virtuosity of the Western European wind tradition, creating an unmistakable sound.

Conductor Yuri Gilbo, born in St. Petersburg in 1968 with German-Russian-Ukrainian roots, is equally influenced by the musical traditions of Eastern and Western Europe and has long been one of the most exciting talents of his generation of conductors.

Admission is from 14:00, the concert begins at 19:00.
