KMRU "FOLDS I"

In the organizer's words:

In FOLDS (In tape fields) KMRU investigates how urban infrastructures condition and structure listening in public space. Based on listening walks, detours and casual recordings, he approaches Düsseldorf as an auditory field in which routines, rhythms and expectations overlap.

The work unfolds across various locations and loudspeaker systems in the urban space. Sound motifs, loops and field recordings appear staggered and recurring, without forming a coherent whole. Time is stretched, interrupted or retraced. Meaning is created in passing, in lingering or even in overhearing. Instead of a fixed cartography, the work opens up an open, multi-layered form of perception.
