"Labyrinth des Innenohrs" mit Siegfried Saerberg, Dirk Sorge und Juan Ruiz

In the organizer's words:

Resonance-based spatial perception, also known as echolocation or click sonar, is an exciting thing. People perceive their surroundings via sound impulses and their echoes. It helps in everyday life, but also opens up aesthetic perspectives that go beyond the visual.

In the listening session and subsequent discussion, disability studies researcher Siegfried Saerberg, echolocation trainer Juan Ruiz and media and conceptual artist Dirk Sorge will share their views. There are very different approaches when it comes to resonance-based spatial perception. Firstly, we have the aesthetic-compositional approach of the artist, then the phenomenological-ethnographic thoughts of the researcher and finally the emancipatory-mediating practices of the pedagogue.

Together we will listen to excerpts from various artistic works. In this way, echolocation can be experienced not only as an orientation technique, but also as an aesthetic practice and analytical perspective on sound, space and resonance.
