Different aesthetic approaches and narrative forms come together in the short film program. Some films are dedicated to a personal memory, others to a contemporary breaking point, while still others seek expression in more experimental forms. What they have in common is a clear artistic signature and the courage to create their own cinematic worlds.

This year, the Short Film Audience Award will be presented for the second time. The audience will decide which of the eight films will receive the award after the screenings - so the movie theater will have the final say.

For ten days, the 37th Turkish Film Festival 2026 Munich will present feature films, documentaries and short films at the Royal Filmpalast and Gasteig HP8. They tell of escapes from reality, of inequality and solidarity, of being a woman and a mother, of the power of art and imagination. They provide an insight into what is currently moving society and into the turbulent years of its history. Touching, moving and often with a good dose of humor!
