Leonce und Lena, verschlumpft | Statttheater

In the organizer's words:

In a Smurf village called Popo, life is harmonious and idyllic. This is a thorn in the side of the sorcerer Gargamel. Driven by power and greed, he wants to disrupt the order of the Smurf idyll. With a concoction whose vapors produce melancholy, he plunges the Smurf Prince Leonce into deep melancholy. Yet he was soon to be married. Together with his Smurf companion Valeria, he flees to Italy. On the way there, he meets the love of his life: Smurf Princess Lena from the Smurf village of Pipi. They both regain their courage and want to get married.
However, whether this wish harmonizes with the original wedding plan and stops Gargamel's evil machinations is finally resolved with the revelation of a surprising deceptive manoeuvre.

The patients from the Statttheater bring the famous comedy by Georg Büchner into the world of the Smurfs and add a fantastic absurdity to the scurrility of the drama. Following the performance, the Statttheater's first film project will be presented: the silent film "In the Shadow of the Raven". It examines the circumstances and background of Edgar Allan Poe's death.
