Two couples who are friends go to the Baltic Sea for a weekend together, and Ola is there for the first time. Ola is single, loves women and men and has a biography of Hildegard von Bingen in her luggage. For Amalia's boyfriend Christian, Ola's feminist comments are a disaster. The very first evening threatens to turn into a fiasco over the question of who will succeed in lighting the barbecue and a conversation about female masturbation. The second couple, Kata and Lenny, are increasingly irritated by Christian's behavior, but are largely preoccupied with their own suppressed arguments. The situation escalates when Amalia and Ola are suddenly nowhere to be found.
How do I free myself from a self-destructive relationship, and at what point is non-interference complicity? Bianca Nawrath demonstrates a keen eye for the gray areas within friendship and love, for the quiet workings of feelings of shame and guilt. With pointed dialogues, psychological tension and believable characters, she questions traditional power structures and leads her readers through many, often highly amusing detours to the realization of how valuable female solidarity is.

Bianca Nawrath is an author and actress with Polish roots. Born in Berlin in 1997, she first appeared in front of the camera as a presenter of a youth program at the age of 14. She made her acting debut in 2018 and has since played alongside Judi Dench and Jürgen Vogel, among others. Her first novel "Iss das jetzt, wenn du mich liebst" was published in 2021, followed by the novel "Wenn ich dir jetzt recht gebe, liegen wir beide falsch" (2023). Bianca Nawrath lives and works in Berlin.
