Albert Lortzing, Louise Otto-Peters and their time in writing and music

In addition to his operas, Albert Lortzing is also known for his song compositions. In addition to the songs for male choir, some songs for solo singing have also survived. These complement each other perfectly with the work of Leipzig artists such as the songs of Clara Schumann or the poems and writings of the women's rights activist Louise Otto-Peters, who, like Lortzing, was close to the revolutionary Robert Blum. In addition to Lortzing's song oeuvre, the song recital will shed light on Leipzig's chamber music and socio-political facets of the time.
