From 16 to 18 April 2026, everything will revolve around the microscope, a groundbreaking invention that, like the telescope, has revolutionized our view of scientific relationships. With its help, we are focusing on microplastics as one of the most pressing issues of our time. What do we mean by this, where do we encounter it in the environment and in our bodies and what consequences does it have for our society? In workshops, fulldome programs, lectures and live performances, you will experience an exciting journey from the microcosm of life to the infinite vastness of the universe.

Mega-microscopy: We show the small world in a very big way

With the help of the microscopes and live projections installed in the planetarium hall, we make the invisible visible together: what is hidden in our surroundings? Visitors are invited to bring along a glass of water from their local pond, a dishwashing sponge from their own kitchen or other interesting objects, which we will examine together.

Together with lecturers from the Gläsernes Labor and Freilandlabor Marzahn, we will embark on a journey of discovery into the microcosm.

To prepare for the event, all visitors should visit the microscope stations in the foyer: At "The world in detail", we will help you make preparations for the fulldome from your samples.
