MELT BANANA

MELT-BANANA come from Tokyo/Japan. The intense sound of MELT-BANANA has long been an institution - for fans, critics and musicians alike who are not deterred by complex structures and arrangements. Numerous singles and sampler contributions, 12½ albums and concerts all over the world: with their hard, experimental and unique sound, MELT-BANANA have become an integral part of music history.

It is therefore no surprise that many of MELT-BANANA's fans are musicians themselves who recognize and appreciate the complexity and high level of MxBx. Nor is it a coincidence that artists such as JOHN ZORN, TOOL, MIKE PATTON, FANTOMAS, WIRE, UNDERWORLD, MELVINS or LOU REED, who sadly passed away far too early, have worked with them. MELT-BANANA consists of singer Yasuko Onuki ("Yako") and guitarist Ichiro Agata ("Agata"). Agata's guitar sound is often described as a mix of turntables, synthesizers and samplers hidden between six guitar strings - creating that unmistakable "hypertension sound".

Support: PACMAN from Hanover appreciate the catchy pop song as much as the noise. Does this sound belong there? Possibly. The scraping is followed by the ballad, and after two minutes the spook is usually over again.
