For the five of Punchlove, moving into a labyrinthine Brooklyn home together was the turning point that finally gave birth to the album they had been unknowingly working on their entire lives.

During this process, Punchlove gradually evolved from a reclusive bedroom project to a very present live phenomenon that is now listed as a headliner. Along the way, they've built a densely layered foundation of emotionally sharp-edged pain-pop songs, over which rises a digitally energized, emotive brand of modern neo-shoegaze.

Their debut "Channels" is an album full of carefully crafted sounds and precisely polished instrumentals, written by a band that has played together with a dreamlike confidence. The musical influences in their sound are varied and not so easy to decipher, but range from the 90s and bands like Sonic Youth and Yo La Tange to Broken Social Scene, Animal Collective, King Gizzard, Thee Oh Sees and Mannequin Pussy, as well as relatively new acts like Bar Italia and Just Mustard.
