M.I.A. // Bleakness

M.I.A.,
is an American punk rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, from the 80s. Their sound is generally categorized as hardcore and thrash metal, although they also presented more melodic and progressive sounds on their later albums. AllMusic described the band as "one of the 50 best punk bands in Southern California from the great second wave of punk in the early 80s".
After a long hiatus, the remaining original members of M.I.A. reunited on November 8, 2014 at Backstage Bar & Billiards in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada for the second annual Las Vegas Hardcore Reunion (L.V.HC.). Nick Adams took over vocals and guitar, Paul Schwartz played bass and sang backing vocals, and Chris Moon played drums and also sang backing vocals.

Bleakness,
formed in Nantes in 2017 and based in Paris since May 2022, has evolved significantly since their first concerts. Initially influenced by American hardcore and English punk, the trio's songs have become increasingly darker, creating a colder and more tense atmosphere. Intense and melancholic, Bleakness captures the atmosphere of early gothic rock and gives it a raw punk urgency.
