Anastasiia Kolabanova - soprano
and zamus: amateur baroque orchestra
Rehearsal: Peter Wuttke
What genre would be better suited to depicting the fall of man and the loss of paradise in music than opera? In the program of zamus: amateur barock orchester with soprano Anastasiia Kolabanova, Jupiter and Semele first enjoy themselves until the mortal longs for the forbidden knowledge of the divine and immortality. In Leonardo Vinci's opera "Gismondo", a drama with civil war, power struggles and love entanglements, Primislao calls to arms. Jean-Baptiste Lully's "Armide" is about freedom, but also about the struggle between love and hate. In George Frideric Handel's "Judas Maccabaeus", peace can finally be welcomed. A grandiose cantata-sinfonia by Johann Sebastian Bach finally leads to the Pentecost event of mutual understanding - and where better than in music?
Arias from music-dramatic works by George Frideric Handel, Leonardo Vinci and Jean-Baptiste Lully, orchestral works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Giuseppe Antonio Brescianello, Georg Philipp Telemann and Johann Friedrich Fasch.
