The Soulful Shack - Soul Allnighter

Happy faces everywhere, movement right down to the last corner of the hall, a celebration of soul music, joy and life - yes, that's how it was at the glorious party for the 40th anniversary of Cologne's first Soul Allnighter in September 2025.

Before that, there hadn't been a Soulful Shack in Cologne for 30 years - and it's not going to stay that way! Under the motto "back for good", the DJ team with Olaf Karnik and Frank Schäfer from Cologne and the Munich faction with Reinhard Jellen and Michael Reinboth (Elaste, Compost Records) will return to the Stadtgarten - once or twice a year!
The guests this time will be Inger from the all-female DJ collective 45 Degrees from Hamburg and Robin Arroyo-Schneider, who joined the Cologne team over 30 years ago.

As always, the Soulful Shack will feature a broad spectrum of soul - 70s grooves and sixties classics, rare groove and Philly sound, disco soul and crossover, funky stuff and modern movers, not to mention a dose of northern soul, which is where it all began 41 years ago in the small Cologne club Salznuss.

The Soulful Shack publication published for the 40th anniversary, which documents the history of Germany's No. 1 soul DJ team between 1985 and 1995, is still up to date. The 40-page magazine will be available at the Box Office for a special price of 5 euros.
