Okan Seese will be back at the Kulturhaus Schwanen in Waiblingen on Friday, October 16, 2026, with his new solo evening "Tomaten auf den Ohren". It starts at 8 pm, admission from 7 pm. The evening moves between live art, stand-up and comedy and tells with wit, speed and self-irony about the everyday life of a deaf, gay man between misunderstandings, dating, visits to the doctor and absurd encounters. The show is performed for both hearing and deaf people and accompanied live in spoken language.

Better tomatoes on his ears than a plank in front of his head: Okan Seese can't hear. But he has all the more to tell - or rather: to sign! He talks about his life between two cultures as a deaf, gay man, about funny dates, the challenges of visiting the doctor without an interpreter - and what happens when Jehovah's Witnesses turn up at his door. In his new solo show, Okan Seese takes the audience on a humorous journey through his everyday life with a great deal of self-irony. Hearing spectators are amazed when they get to know the world from the perspective of a deaf person - or when they realize what curious questions they themselves keep asking.

Okan is Germany's only deaf comedian and has established himself impressively quickly in the stand-up scene in recent years. He has already appeared on almost every well-known comedy show, is a welcome guest at the Quatsch Comedy Club and tours all over Germany!
In "Tomaten auf den Ohren", he combines personal stories, pop-cultural flair and queer matter-of-factness with a humor that never comes across as pretentious.
The audience experiences an evening that not only discusses barriers, but also undermines them on stage - directly, playfully and with an open view of what is often taken for granted in society.
