Open Air - Phil´s Flying Axes

In the organizer's words:

At its core, this extraordinary guitar ensemble has existed for over 25 years at the music school of the city of Neuss. Thanks to the individuality of its members and special arranging techniques, the ensemble's music combines elements of jazz, blues, rock and Latin to create an exciting new sound with unique guitar arrangements and beautiful compositions. The compositions and arrangements of Berklee College of Music Professor Bret Willmott in particular characterize the sound of this extraordinary ensemble.

Over the years, numerous students and professionals have grown out of this ensemble and have helped shape the current musical landscape in their own way.
The "Ex-Axes" include: Philipp Wisser, Leon Plecity, Nicola Hein, Ursula Wienken, Lukas Gaedtke, David Düpjohann, Thilo Wehrmann, Julie Falcon and many more.
The Phil's Flying Axes play under the direction of Philipp van Endert, who is one of the most renowned jazz musicians in Germany and Europe thanks to his numerous productions and busy concert schedule.
