Kirchplatz

Kirchplatz is located to the south of Düsseldorf city center in the Unterbilk district. It is centrally located and is therefore also an important traffic junction. On the occasion of an extensive redesign in 2004/2005 as part of the Platzda! project of the city of Düsseldorf, permanently installed market pavilions were erected on Kirchplatz, similar to those on Carlsplatz. These are used for the daily sale of fresh produce such as flowers, fruit, vegetables and fish; these pavilions also house restaurants of several nationalities. The neo-Gothic St. Peter's Church forms the end of the southern section.
