OPEN/CLOSED // Pierre Piton

In the organizer's words:

"I was born in 1995 and belong to a generation that I perceive as "in-between". We are unfolding between utopia and dystopia, between anger and fear, heading towards an impossible future. With Open/Closed, I want to externalize this duality and explore the emotional state of this turmoil as a gesture of empowerment."
Open/Closed leads the audience through a personal exploration of the body - both its exterior and interior. Piton's movements confront the challenges of horizontality and verticality, play with precarious states of balance and flow between walls and floor. His sensitive choreography, which takes place in dialog with the organic sounds of Simone Aubert, reflects the ambiguity of a personal revolution that is as fragile as it is powerful. The boundaries of the self disappear in this piece, and so Open/Closed becomes an invitation to open up to one's surroundings.
