QueerHistoryMonth | 100 Jahre schwule Geschichte – eine Reise durch Lust, Leben und Widerstand in St.Georg | Stadtführung

In the organizer's words:

QUEERHISTORYMONTH

QueerHistoryMonth will take place in Hamburg from May 1 to 31, 2026(www.queerhistoryhamburg.de). Various events as part of the festival will bring the history(ies) of the queer community in Hamburg to life. Everyone is welcome - kings, queers, queens, allies, friends, families (of choice) and everyone in between and beyond!

The event

A captivating journey through 100 years of gay history: experience lust, persecution, emancipation and moving anecdotes between the scene, everyday life and memory

Kai, Brendon and Lukas will take you on a fascinating journey through a century of gay history. Between emancipation and persecution, lust and suffering, they tell you about the profound changes and defining moments of the last 100 years.

Look forward to impressive stories, surprising insights and personal anecdotes: from life between the cathedral and mosques, legendary friendship bars, stumbling blocks and traces of the past to the leather scene, the AIDS crisis and queer subculture. Dazzling places such as the Fickstutenmarkt and gay cafés also find their place in this multi-layered narrative.

An event that is moving, informative and thought-provoking.
