In the organizer's words:

QUEERHISTORYMONTH

QueerHistoryMonth will take place in Hamburg from May 1 to 31, 2026(www.queerhistoryhamburg.de). Various events as part of the festival will bring the history(ies) of the queer community in Hamburg to life. Everyone is welcome - kings, queers, queens, allies, friends, families (of choice) and everyone in between and beyond!

The event

A captivating journey through 100 years of gay history: experience lust, persecution, emancipation and moving anecdotes between the scene, everyday life and memories

Kai and Johannes will guide you through St. Pauli and take you on an exciting journey through a century of gay life. Between the Reeperbahn and the side streets, they will tell you about moving, dramatic and surprising moments in history.

Experience stories about female impersonators and sailors, denunciation and solidarity, legendary friendship bars, flaps and flap peep shows - and about times of dance bans and new beginnings.

A tour full of history, atmosphere and lively insights into the historic queer St. Pauli.
