QueerHistoryMonth | Queere Visionen: Adnan, Tilmans, Thek – Wie queere Ästhetiken die Kunst bereichern | Führung und Ausstellungsbesuch

In the organizer's words:

QUEERHISTORYMONTH

QueerHistoryMonth will take place in Hamburg from May 1 to 31, 2026(www.queerhistoryhamburg.de). Various events as part of the festival will bring the history(ies) of the queer community in Hamburg to life. Everyone is welcome - kings, queers, queens, allies, friends, families (of choice) and everyone in between and beyond!

The event

A dialogical tour about queer visions and aesthetics in art history

Queer artists enrich the art world with innovative visions and extraordinary aesthetics. In the exhibition "ISA MONA LISA" we explore works by Etel Adnan, Paul Thek, Wolfgang Tillmans as well as Isa Genzken and Louise Bourgeois, which take up queer themes and influences.

We will shed light on how queer perspectives have changed art styles and eras and venture a look into the future: What new paths do queer aesthetics open up for us? How do they promote diversity and social change?

Experience art from a queer perspective!
