Openness, diversity and a transdisciplinary concept of art: the artistic interests and personality of the choreographer James Saunders are the common thread of this concert on June 13, initiated by the E-MEX Ensemble and the well-known Cologne soprano Christiane Oelze to mark the 30th anniversary of the exceptional artist's death. His groundbreaking work radiated out from Cologne into the world and combined new and historical music, dance, visual art and performance. The concert focuses on memories of the artist and man James Saunders. Texts read by Frank Meyer and songs sung by Christiane Oelze, complemented by chamber music, reflect his diverse artistic interests, including the music he himself used in his projects.
Following the performance, we will show the film "EYE" - Solo Performance James Saunders (1994, 45').

Works by Gustav Mahler, Kurt Weill, Maurice Ravel, Morton Feldman, Salvatore Sciarrino and others.
