RETROSPEKTIVE ATOM EGOYAN

In the organizer's words:

To mark the Yerevan-Leipzig Year of Culture, we will be presenting a selection of early and mid-career films by the famous Canadian-Armenian director Atom Egoyan in this retrospective from the beginning of March. With three main prizes at Cannes and two Oscar nominations, he is one of the most internationally acclaimed directors of our time. He was born in 1960 to Armenian parents in Cairo. His family fled to Canada when he was three years old.
His first three films NEXT OF KIN, FAMILY VIEWING and SPEAKING PARTS deal with the problems of national and family identity. He continues his exploration of his Armenian roots in CALENDAR and ARARAT.
