Under the main topic "Body", Annika Depping talks to Cologne-based author Son Lewandowski about her debut novel "Die Routinen".

About the book
Shame, pain, self-optimization - competitive gymnast Amik swaps her childhood for a room at a sports boarding school with the prospect of medals. However, beneath the facade of fake smiles and glitter spray lies a world of abuse, hunger and fear of her own body. In her debut Die Routinen (The Routines), Son Lewandowski tells the story of an unheard-of system and one of the biggest sporting scandals of our time in an eloquent and adept manner.

Son Lewandowski is an author and curator based in Cologne. In 2023 she was invited to the Klagenfurt Literature Course and the LCB Authors' Workshop. She was shortlisted for the Edit Essay Prize that year with Die kurzen Karrieren. In 2024 she was supported by the Jürgen Ponto Foundation's Spaltmaße scholarship, and in 2025 by the Kunststiftung NRW working scholarship. In May, Son Lewandowski wrote the eponymous column SATZWENDE for the Bremen literary magazine on the subject of #Body.
