soundings #53: wipeç

In the organizer's words:

wipeç is the electronic music project of composer and performer Ahmetcan Gökçeer . In his works, he combines dense sound textures, fragmented rhythms and digital sounds, moving between composition, performance and sound art.

Gökçeer's works have been performed at international concerts and exhibitions, including the Festival di Musica Elettroacustica e Contemporanea, ZKM Next Generation, the Limina Festival and the Istanbul Biennial. Gökçeer has participated as a composer and performer/improviser in residencies such as the Laboratory of Arts Montepulciano and contemPLAY Vilnius.

His sound works focus on site-specific performances, video and acoustic research.

Gökçeer currently performs as a solo electronic musician under the name wipeç . He leads the Ableton User Group Istanbul, teaches and regularly organizes workshops.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Istanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Music and a Master of Music from Cologne University of Music and Dance.
