Film & Gespräch: „Whitetail“ von KHM-Professorin Nanouk Leopold

Dutch director and screenwriter Nanouk Leopold has started teaching as a professor of directing fictional films and series at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne in the summer semester of 2026. On Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 7 p.m., she will introduce herself to the university and the interested public with an inaugural lecture and present her latest feature film. "Whitetail" celebrated its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last year. Following the screening, Prof. Pia Marais will talk to Nanouk Leopold about the film, her professional career and her future teaching at the KHM.

In the remote beauty of southern Ireland, Jen works as a conservation officer in the same woods where her younger sister died in a tragic accident years ago. The sudden return of Oscar, a friend from her distant past, awakens long-buried memories and forces her to confront their shared past. When a poacher leaves increasingly violent traces in the area she protects, the line between past and present begins to blur and Jen must face what has been haunting her all along.
