Special: Werkstattgespräch Sophie Maintigneux

In the organizer's words:

It all began with a glow: Her sensitive image design in Éric Rohmer's Le rayon vert made Sophie Maintigneux famous in the 1980s. Around 70 films followed, including Ostkreuz (Michael Klier, 1991), Gotteszell (Helga Reidemeister, 2001), Die dünnen Mädchen (Maria Teresa Camoglio, 2008), Fräulein Stinnes fährt um die Welt (Erica von Moeller, 2009) and Petra Kelly - Act Now (Doris Metz, 2024).

Since 2009, Sophie has moderated the four-hour "Werkstattgespräch Bildgestaltung" at the IFFF in Cologne, which gained legendary status at the festival thanks to her empathetic discussion and eye-opening analysis. For the festive finale, we are reversing the roles and paying tribute to Sophie's achievements as an image designer, as a teacher and as a member of the festival team. This can only succeed as a collective, and so the following companions will join her in conversation: the image designers Susanne Schüle and Katharina Diessner, the director Erica von Moeller and the television editor and university colleague Sabine Rollberg.
