Nunkui grows up in a Shuar community on the Amazon. In her extended family, she learns the magical songs, indigenous crafts and agriculture. At the same time, her charismatic grandfather fights against transnational mining companies. In a lush world full of plants, animals and spirits, this story of resistance tells of Nunkui's growing understanding of her place in the world.
