Together with the Mediengründerzentrum NRW, we are presenting an evening full of exciting questions about production and women-led companies. We are looking forward to a talk with two influential female producers who are breaking down clichés and redistributing roles both artistically and entrepreneurially: Melanie Andernach from Made in Germany and content producer Pocket Hazel.

Melanie Andernach (Made in Germany)
With films such as Seven Winters in Tehran and Vergiss Meyn Nicht, Cologne-based producer Melanie Andernach has demonstrated a keen instinct for realizing complex material. Her productions are characterized by a special precision which, despite all factual analysis, never leave the empathetic level and thus penetrate to the core of a mostly difficult political topic. She will talk in detail about her experiences as an entrepreneur in the documentary film business as well as her boundless love of cinema.

Pocket Hazel
German-Vietnamese content creator Pocket Hazel will talk about promising productions for platforms such as YouTube and Instagram. She combines entertainment with socially relevant topics such as financial education and pop culture for her approximately 500,000 subscribers on YouTube. She provides personal insights into her career and shows which forms of support were crucial in the process.
