Systema Solar (Sambumbia /CO) *live*

Systema Solar - or 19 years of electropical madness at the interface of electronic music and the rhythms and colors of the Colombian Caribbean.

In the universe of "Berbenautika", traditional Colombian sounds such as cumbia, champeta and bullerengue are combined with contemporary influences from hip-hop, house and electronica. This is accompanied by committed lyrics and hymns to joy and dance. Systema Solar coined the term Berbenautika themselves to describe the art of merging Colombian traditions, festivals (verbenas) and sound system culture (pikós) with electronic music and party energy to create an audiovisual experience.

Systema Solar was founded at the end of 2006 to open the MDE07 art biennial in Medellín. The music and visual collective from the Caribbean region of Colombia brings together members from different geographical and sonic backgrounds who have found in Afro-Caribbean vibrations a wide range of possibilities to amplify the power and expressiveness of Colombian music.
