tacet_

In the organizer's words:

"In general, Eva Baumann gets an extraordinary amount out of silence. She turns it into a multi-faceted sound and performance event. tacet_ tells of vulnerability, consideration and mutual listening in an informal yet highly suspenseful way."
(SWR Klassik)

Music and dance meet ... silence.

The impetus for the immersive music-dance performance tacet_ is the collective numbness that has gripped us in the face of the current global crises. It seems to contradict the breathless pace of an accelerated society to which we have become so accustomed. The word tacet is used in musical notation and means "silence" for the instrument or the singing voice.
Four dancers and a cellist embark on a minimalist journey for inner peace and interpersonal connection in a noisy, increasingly dystopian world in the ambience of a former church.

But can communication succeed in silence?
What physical resonance does silence have?

SPECIAL

Workshop "Resonating Silence" with Eva Baumann on Saturday, 25.04.2026 at 15-16.30 hrs
Silence is perceived differently by each person and is often sought out to recharge energy and inner strength. It can have a clarifying effect on the body and mind and create creative spaces for thought. This is where the Resonating Silence workshop comes in and invites participants to consciously listen to silence. Working with the body and voice opens up individual and collective resonance spaces that we explore and create together.
Eva Baumann has been working for several years with elements from somatic yoga, the Bartenieff Fundamentals and her own body practice, which she has been combining withscores from Pauline Olivero's practice of 'Deep Listening'® since last year. The workshop is open to anyone who wants to work with the body and voice. Bring warm clothes, thick socks, a yoga mat and a water bottle.
The workshop will be held in German and/or English, depending on the composition of the group.

Workshop "Cartographie Sensible" with Céline Papion on Sunday, 26.04.2026 at 3 p.m. - 5.30 p.m.
What does a place sound and feel like? What memories do we associate with it?
"Sensitive cartography" invites participants to grasp a place not on the basis of scales and coordinates, but through the subjective perception of emotions, memories, sounds and smells.
Inspired by Pauline Oliveros' practice of 'Deep Listening'®, we go outside and take time to discover a place through all our senses. We then transfer the collected perceptions onto paper in a personal cartography and share the creative experiences with each other.
No previous knowledge is required. Bring comfortable, warm clothing and a bottle of water. The workshop starts in the HuMBASEpartout and takes place mostly outdoors. Paper and pens will be provided.
Language: German with translation into English possible.

Available in combination with a ticket for tacet_ or separately on request by email to office.cie.zeitgeist(at)gmail.com
