Talk mit Zeitzeug*innen: Samudaripen - Rom*nja erinnern

In the organizer's words:

To this day, the Samudaripen (Romani: "complete murder") is barely anchored in the consciousness of society as a whole. The project and the information boards "Samudaripen - Rom*nja erinnern" (Samudaripen - Rom*nja remember) by the Düsseldorf self-organization Carmen e.V. focus on the persecution and systematic oppression of Rom*nja during National Socialism and its effects up to the present day.

In this event, contemporary witnesses and project participants will talk about their experiences and enter into an open dialog with the participants. Together, they will talk about remembrance, coming to terms with the past and promoting an active culture of remembrance. The event takes place in cooperation with Carmen e. V. in the Yellow Room of the Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum.

The commemoration of the genocide of Rom*nja and Sini*zze - Historical Responsibility also in Cologne will begin at 7 pm in the VHS Forum.

Both events are free of charge; registration is not required.
