Sharon Eyal
Sharon Eyal is an internationally renowned choreographer and artistic director who understands choreography as a total art form in which movement, music and costume are created together. Her works are characterized by physical intensity and precise movement language between classical ballet and
classical ballet and an extended artistic spectrum. In 2013, she founded the company "S-E-D" with her artistic partner Gai Behar as a platform for works with great artistic freedom. In 2022, they both moved their center of life to Paris and from there
their commitment to the European cultural scene from there. Their repertoire of around fifty works has been presented by leading institutions such as the Opéra national de Paris, the Nederlands Dans Theater, the Royal Swedish Ballet, Gothenburg Opera and the Staatsoper Berlin. Productions of "S-E-D" have toured worldwide and have been seen at the Park Avenue Armory, the Joyce Theatre, the Théâtre National de Chaillot, Julidans, the Manchester International Festival and Sadler's Wells, where Eyal is an associate artist. The costumes for several of her works were designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri (Christian Dior Couture). Musically, her work is characterized by an ongoing collaboration with electronic artists and the Young label (including Jamie xx). In this context, "R.O.S.E" with live DJ sets by Ben UFO and "Call Super" as well as "Into the Hairy" with an original composition by Koreless were created. In the field of visual arts, she collaborated with Es Devlin for Art Basel and with George Rouy in projects with Hauser & Wirth and the Hannah Barry Gallery. For her work, Eyal has received the FEDORA VAN CLEEF & ARPEL Ballet Prize, the "Der Faust" theater prize, the Grand Prize of the Dutch Dance Days and the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Officière) of the French Ministry of Culture, among others.
