Tanz Heilbronn! | Natural Order of Things | GN|MC Guy Nader | Maria Campos (LB/ES)

In the organizer's words:

from the age of 12

In 2022 and 2023, they made quite an impression with "Set of Sets" and "Made of Space" at "TANZ! Heilbronn", they made quite an impression. For the last festival edition, Guy Nader and Maria Campos return to Heilbronn once again. With "Natural Order of Things" , GN|MC take on the relationship between humans, nature and the universe. They are inspired by the principle of orderly disorder. Like particles that move with extreme perfection and precision, yet are random and unpredictable, nine dancers behave like an organism, following seemingly chaotic paths only to reorganize themselves into coherent groups. They step, lean, fall when the center of gravity is passed, scatter in all directions, only to find each other again. With their unique, gravity-defying combination of contemporary dance and acrobatics, the company recreates natural phenomena in this performance. Repetitive movements, cycles of chaos and order create an almost hypnotic pull. A microcosm of self-organizing systems emerges on stage, a resistance manifests itself in the interplay of balance and fall, a protest against the ever-looming chaos of the world. The dance performance is an ode to life itself, to its fragility and an attempt to re-establish a sense of belonging, of beauty and security with and in nature.

GN|MC is an independent ensemble of the two choreographers and dancers Guy Nader and Maria Campos, based in Barcelona. The Lebanese-Spanish artistic duo has been working together since 2006 and their works have been shown at numerous festivals and international venues. Their working method combines choreographic practice with principles of physics and develops into a precise exploration of time-space compositions. Both strive for high physical performance to push the body to its limits, seeking both strength and subtlety in movement. Their work is based on intensive movement research into weight, space, time and group dynamics, in which the body is simultaneously the subject, object and tool of its own knowledge.

Guy Nader studied acting at the Institute of Fine Arts at the Lebanese University of Beirut and physical theater at the Moveo Theatre School in Barcelona. He has won numerous prizes, including first prize at the 2010 Masdanza International Festival for his solo "Where The Things Hide". He is an Associated Artist of La Caldera and Artist in Residence at the Graner Creation Center in Barcelona. In addition to his work as a choreographer, Guy Nader regularly gives workshops and courses all over the world.

Maria Campos studied at the SEAD Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in Austria and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Dance at the Amsterdam School of Arts. She has worked with numerous companies and independent artists, combining her own work with teaching.
