The Simple Present (indie-pop, stgrt) + Ola & Lars (sixties-pop-disco-duo, hh/wien)

In the organizer's words:

The Simple Present from Stuttgart play carefree indie pop in its purest form, which is rarely found in this country. The duo, consisting of Cat (vocals, guitar) and Sabine (vocals, keyboard), is inspired by British pop from the 1980s and 90s. In the university lecture hall, they discovered their shared enthusiasm for indie and twee pop labels such as Elefant Records from Madrid and Labrador from Stockholm.

All of this is reflected in their songs in a unique way, without sounding anything like a copy. Live they are completed by Flow (guitar, e.g. Friedrich Sunlight), Alessandro (drums) and Guilhem (bass, e.g. The Burning Hell). The first record, a 12″ EP, is eagerly awaited in 2026 on the Augsburg indie label Kleine Untergrund Schallplatten|KUS

We are particularly looking forward to the evening's special guest. The great Ola & Lars, the new band of ex-superpunk guitarist Lars Bulnheim and Ola, who can be heard on the new Andreas Dorau album "Wien", will be playing their first Berlin concert, having traveled all the way from Vienna.
