On the occasion of World Earth Day, Leonhard Wons sheds light on the geological features of the Upper Silesia region. How can the wealth of mineral resources be explained and was Upper Silesia once by the sea? Did you know that there are raw materials in the earth without which our everyday life would be unimaginable? Exciting questions that will not only be answered with the help of fascinating objects from the collection, but will also make it clear that the region's current composition is the result of millions of years of geological history.

World Earth Day, known internationally as "Earth Day", takes place every year on April 22. It is a global day of action that draws attention to environmental and climate protection and aims to motivate people to treat the earth more responsibly. The day was established in 1970 and is now celebrated in numerous countries with activities such as information campaigns, educational projects, demonstrations and practical environmental initiatives.
