Thomas Frings: Endlich alt!

In the organizer's words:

We live in an ageing country where, surprisingly, there are hardly any old people. Why does everyone want to grow old, but no one wants to be old? Seen in this light, the greatest discrimination against old people comes from the old themselves, in that they distance themselves from their own group for as long as possible. If we only define old age in terms of its deficits and do not recognize any added value, this should come as no surprise. But doesn't the last third of life also have something to offer?

Thomas Frings, born in 1960, studied Catholic theology, philosophy, art history and classical archaeology in Münster and Munich. Archaeology in Münster and Munich, ordained priest in 1987.
