Vladimir and Estragon wait for Godot, of whom they neither know who he is nor what they actually want from him. Samuel Beckett, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, created one of the classics of modernism with his ambiguous work about waiting and the passing of time, which has been interpreted in all directions.
