Peter Truschner's novel "Die Träumer" (nominated for the German Book Prize in 2007) was the first to deal with the return of right-wing extremism to the center of society, which seemed to the press at the time to be grossly exaggerated.

His new novel "Like a Knife" serves up the foundations of the shift to the right as a polyphonic chorus: angry citizens of all kinds who are filled with a great mistrust of democracy and are hostile to the changes in a globalized world.
