"Where is the happiness that began here" combines poetry, music and drama to create an impressive production that sheds light on the moving stories and emotions surrounding reunification.

Ruth is a renowned writer who emigrated from the GDR before 1989
GDR before 1989, leaving her young daughter Bettina behind with her mother. She broke off all contact with her former life. Bettina now works as a journalist. By chance, the paths of these two women cross again without them recognizing each other, as Ruth has rewritten her biography. An emotional journey into the past begins.
