{It is content inflation. We are constantly bombarded with information, with loud, glaring and violent stimuli constantly masking the more subtle impressions. With { } it's all about NOTHING.

Paul Pape and Zacharias Faßhauer develop a set of instruments for the inaudible, a spatial installation that seeks to create limbo, attempting to sharpen the focus in intoxication through erasure. On the subtle voices. Marginalized impressions. Details drowned out.

Zacharias Faßhauer (electroacoustics, double bass) and Paul Pape (sculptures) created kinetic sculptures for { }, which enter into a dialog with the live double bass. They thus confront the outside world via many different sound generators and live microphones. Acoustic and psychoacoustic phenomena meet acousmatic principles, rigid bodies meet flexible, organic materials. The audience sees itself as if in a bubble, viewing the outside world as a stage.

Originally created for Frankfurt's Bahnhofsviertel as a concert installation, { } adapts to its surroundings like an artistically at least semi-intelligent organism, changing its sounds and form.
