"Between the lines" - the new concert series at the Schumann House
Sometimes music touches us without us being able to say exactly why. There is more between the notes than we can hear. More between the words than is said.
"Between the Lines" invites you to trace these hidden moments. In moderated concerts, we take you behind the music: we tell, explain, ask and discover together. You will experience concerts that are personal - approachable, lively and touching.
"Reverie(s)"
In the Schumann household, music was both the rule of life and everyday life. Robert Schumann was inspired by his turbulent family life to compose works such as the "Kinderszenen" and the "Album für die Jugend" - little musical adventures full of fantasy and liveliness. The children grew up with this music, marveled, listened and became creative themselves: daughter Marie and father Robert gave Clara a poem set to music, while the youngest son Felix inspired Johannes Brahms with his poetic lines. In this concert, young and old music lovers will experience the Schumann family's world of sound and immerse themselves in family life in the 19th century.
