The Schiller Library, founded in 1920, is one of the oldest libraries in the Mitte district. Initially opened as a small children's reading room and youth library, it quickly established itself and became the Schillerpark public library in 1936. In July 2015, the Schiller Library opens with the @hugo youth media floor and a focus on youth as a social space-oriented central library in its own new building. 1,800 ^m2 on 3 levels with a reading lounge, sonic chairs, youth bistro and event rooms offer media and events for children, young people and adults.

With 75,000 media (books, DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs, console games for PS 3, PS 4, PS 5, Wii, Wii U, XBOX One + XBOX Series X and Nintendo DS, Tonies, Mobi-Sticks, TipToi pens, audio books, comics, mangas, magazines and daily newspapers), a wide range of media is available for life and leisure activities, entertainment, vocational and school education. The spacious study areas and workstations with PC equipment make the library a great place to learn.

The extension to the central library was realized by the state of Berlin with funds from the European Union (European Regional Development Fund - ERDF) and from the federal-state programme "Active City Centres".
