It is well known that God took six days to create the world. Joseph Haydn, on the other hand, worked on his "Creation" for two years. But the effort was more than worth it. Right at the first public performance on March 19, 1799, crowds flocked to the Burgtheater in Vienna to celebrate this work and its creator. With overwhelming choruses, enchanting arias and onomatopoeic effects, Haydn tells of the creation of the world. And right at the beginning, we experience the first goosebumps when, after the dark chaos, we hear the first glimmer of light in glorious C major. Andreas Spering presents this most important oratorio by Joseph Haydn alongside the "Seasons" with his Capella Augustina, the Klangverwaltung choir and a world-class ensemble of soloists.
