With ASHES, Cooperativa Maura Morales transports the audience into an intense moment between past and future, a suspended state in which time seems to condense and slip away at the same time. Two dancers, Maura Morales and Sebastián Rowinsky, who are on the threshold of their dancing lives, explore the borderline experiences of ageing and the flickering energy of the moment together with live musician Michio Woirgardt.
Their bodies bear traces of years lived, inscribed memories, ruptures and resistances and at the same time the unbroken longing for movement.
In a radical commitment to the power of art and dance movement, an extraordinary, touching aesthetic unfolds that reflects both personal fears and collective hopes.
The moment of transition itself becomes the stage: fragile, intense and of great urgency.
A poetic, haunting evening that celebrates the decay and renewal of the body as a work of art - between memory, transformation and the uncertain future, in which every step is both a farewell and a new beginning.
