He is one of the "most interesting voices in contemporary German literature" (Die Zeit), his language is "of extreme precision and poetic radiance" (jury statement Berlin Literature Prize 2026): Matthias Nawrat ("Der traurige Gast" and others). In "Das glückliche Schicksal" (Rowohlt), he has Wanda, a Polish social psychologist, travel to the West in 1983. In Venice, she wants to question the philosopher and scientist Henryk Mrugalski, who is living in exile there, about his research. Or interrogate him?
