The Broken Jug
by Heinrich von Kleist
Kleist created an abysmal comedy about sexualized violence, abuse of power and concealment of facts, in which Judge Adam not only has to deal with the consequences of his nocturnal alcohol consumption, but also has to preside over a court hearing in which he is investigating himself.
