The munich creative business week (mcbw) is Germany's largest design event.

Organized by bayern design since 2012, mcbw brings together thousands of people from the worlds of design, architecture and business every year and brings design to life in Munich. Together with our partners, we create a diverse program that is based on a changing annual theme and addresses current social issues.

The new desire to design - annual motto 2026

This year's motto is "Playground of possibilities". Because in the middle of a complex world, we can feel it: Something is moving. A new energy is awakening, a desire for playful, sensual and relevant design. Not despite, but precisely because of the uncertainties of these times. We don't have to know everything in order to make a difference. On the contrary: it is precisely the uncertainty that opens up the space to understand the future as freely malleable.
