Kongress der Erzählkunst – Aufbruch Erzählen

From April 20 to 23, 2026, the annual Congress of the Art of Storytelling of the Association of Storytellers (VEE) e.V. will take place in Leipzig.

This year we are meeting in the west of Leipzig. Right next to the Karl Heine Canal, between industrial culture, gentrification and lively neighborhoods, there will be plenty of plenary sessions, workshops and storytelling evenings in addition to our annual general meeting.

The planned events range from the history(ies) of the fall of the Berlin Wall to the power of a bilingual Lusatia and intergenerational formats such as the "Council of Generations". We see storytelling as an act of connecting and changing. Storytelling creates spaces in which democracy is lived - through listening, changing perspectives and participating in diverse realities of life.

The congress is open to members of VEE e.V. and all other interested parties.
